Aiming to provide the less fortunate with a place that they can call home, BRAND’S® in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, launched the Hope in a Bottle programme in May 2010.
The project is a first of its kind in Asia-Pacific, and started with the collection of used BRAND’S® glass bottles in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Taiwan. The bottles were then repurposed as building material, resulting in low-cost construction that reduced the impact on the environment while granting families proper shelter and security.
Apart from pledging US$100,000 towards the effort, BRAND’S® also sent a team of staff members to Pathumthani, Thailand to help with construction.
BRAND’S® employees toured Pulau Semakau to witness first-hand the offshore management of waste in Singapore.
This BRAND’S® initiative with World Vision made it possible for 180 underprivileged children to gain access to water, food and healthcare.
BRAND’S® demonstrates its care for the environment through the introduction of a smart waste recycling system in all of its offices.
Through the collection of bottle caps, BRAND’S® made a positive impact in the lives of the physically disabled in Singapore and Thailand.
