Chinese Yam Lotus Seeds Soup Added With BRAND’S® Essence Chicken With Tangkwei

Do you ever experience Pre-Menstrual Syndrome’s symptoms back pain, stomach bloatedness, cramps?  Hormonal imbalances can affect a woman’s quality of life.  Taking the right herbs is one way to help relieve your symptoms & regulate moods.

Serving size: 4 servings of rice bowl size.

Ingredients

  • BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken with Tangkwei – 2 bottles
  • Chicken thigh, skinless - 1 piece
  • Dried Mung fish - 4 nos or Dried Cuttlefish - 1 hand palm size
  • Ginger – 2 thin slices
  • Water – 900-1000 ml (Healthier choice: Distilled water or mineral water)
  • Carrot, 8 inches length – 1 no (Wash & cut into 8 pieces)
  • Chinese Yam, 4 inches length x 2 inches diameter – 1 no (Wash & peel its skin and cut into 8 pieces.  Wear plastic gloves if you are allergic to yams)
  • Garlic cloves - 4 nos
  • Dried Lotus seeds – 12-15 nos (Wash & soak in hot water for 10 minutes to soften it)
  • Red dates (seedless) - 4 nos
  • Goji berries – 12-15 nos
  • Olive Oil - 1 teaspoon (Other healthy oil choices: Canola oil, Sunflower oil, Flaxseed oil, etc)
  • Pepper to taste
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Hard-boiled eggs – 4 nos (Optional)

Preparation

  1. Parboil Chicken thigh in hot boiling water for 1-2 minutes to remove impurities.  Discard the water and rinse the Chicken thigh clear of excess fats.
  2. Put washed Mung fish, Ginger slices and parboiled Chicken thigh into a stewing pot (Healthier choice: glass, corning ware or clay pot). Pour water into the stewing pot & turn on high flame.  Once the water start to boil, turn to low flame & stew for 2 hours.
  3. After 2 hours, skim the soup surface of excess oil then put washed Carrot, Chinese Yam, Garlic cloves, Lotus seeds, Red dates into the soup and stew for another hour.
  4. Once 1 hour is up, add washed Goji berries, Olive oil, Pepper, Salt and stir well.  Turn off flame & let the soup steep for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes is up, pour 2 bottles of BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken with Tangkwei together with the hard-boiled eggs into the soup & stir well.  Then scoop into bowls to serve.

Consumption

  1. For Pre-Menstrual Syndrome’ symptoms: Take 1 serving of this soup for 3-5 days at 1 week before menstruation starts & when menstruation stops.  Preferably to take this soup in the morning & not later than 3.00 pm because it may cause heatiness in some individuals especially those with heaty body system.
  2. For Menopause symptoms: take 1 serving of this soup daily.
  3. For cooking using Slow Cooker: Water – 800-900 ml.  Put all ingredients into slow cooker & turn on Auto or High mode for 4-5 hours.  For Low mode, cooking time is 7-8 hours.  When cooking time is up, follow Preparation notes Item (4) & (5) instructions.

Note: To drink this soup at an interval of ½ to 1 hours from medications.  If you are pregnant or having any medical conditions, please seek your health expert before consuming this soup.

主料

  • 白兰氏当归鸡精 - 2罐
  • 去皮鸡腿肉 - 1只
  • 明目鱼 - 4条或墨鱼 - 1个手掌大小
  • 薄姜 - 2片
  • 水 - 900至1000毫升 (健康的选择:蒸馏水或矿泉水)
  • 8英寸长的红萝卜 - 1条 (洗净并切成8片)
  • 4英寸长×2英寸宽的淮山- 1条 (洗净后去皮并切成8块。如果您对山药过敏,请戴上塑料手套)
  • 蒜瓣 - 4粒
  • 莲子干 - 12-15粒 (清洗和浸泡在热水中10分钟及软化莲子)
  • 无核红枣 - 4粒
  • 枸杞子 - 12-15粒
  • 橄榄油 - 1茶匙 (其它健康油的选择:芥花籽油、葵花籽油、亚麻籽油等)
  • 胡椒粉适量
  • 盐 - 1茶匙
  • 煮熟的蛋 - 4粒 (选择性)

准备工作

  1. 把鸡腿肉放进热水1至2分钟以除去杂质。之后把水倒掉,再以清水洗净鸡腿肉,把多余的脂肪去除。
  2. 将洗净的明目鱼、姜片和半熟的鸡腿肉放入炖锅里(健康的选择:玻璃、康宁或陶瓷锅)。 将水倒入炖锅中并开大火煮沸。 当炖锅里的水煮沸了,就转小火焖2小时。
  3. 2小时后,去掉汤表层多余的油后,加入洗净好的红萝卜、淮山、蒜瓣、莲子和红枣入汤并炖多1小时。
  4. 1小时后,加入枸杞子、橄榄油、胡椒粉和盐搅拌均匀。 关火并焖上10分钟。
  5. 10分钟后,倒入2罐白兰氏当归鸡精及煮熟的蛋于汤中并搅拌均匀,舀入碗即可享用。

摄取量

  1. 对于月经前期综合征的症状:在月经前1周及月经后摄取此汤1份长达3至5天。 最好在上午及不晚于下午3时饮用此汤,因为它可能会对某些人引起上火,特别是那些有燥热体质的人。
  2. 对于更年期的症状:每日摄取此汤1份。
  3. 对于慢炖锅使用者:水- 800-900毫升。 将所有材料放入慢炖锅里并开启自动或高温模式4至5小时。 选用低温模式,烹煮时间为7至8小时。 当烹煮好了,请依据以上准备工作(4)及(5)的说明。

注意:如果有服用任何药物,必需与此汤饮用时间相隔1/2至1小时。 如果您是孕妇或有任何健康问题,在饮用此汤前请咨询您的健康专家。
